Lengthy Island Advance affiliate editor Glenn Rohrbacker is hoping to offer assist for school journalists starting their careers by way of his non-profit, School Media Group. Its first fundraiser, supporting the mission of training and empowering scholar journalists, is happening this Sunday, Nov. 17 from three p.m. to six:30 p.m. at 89 North in Patchogue.
Tickets are $20 basic admission, $25 on the door; $12 for school college students; $17 on the door. Meals, raffles, prizes and a money bar shall be supplied. Featured musicians are Tony Siditio, Matt Relevo and The Como Brothers Band.
“Mainly, we’re offering training and instruments,” Rohrbacker mentioned. “We’re engaged on establishing numerous applications for a web based studying academy with movies and lessons to assist scholar journalists do their job higher, like how one can take care of numerous interviews.
